You can take longer steps when using the poles. You move forward faster and with bigger steps because you use not only your legs but also your arms and shoulders.
Nordic Walking dates to the beginning of the 20th century. It began as a form of exercise for skiers. Nowadays it’s an aerobic sport for everybody, no matter the age. It’s also a sport that isn’t too expensive - you can exercise by yourself or with an instructor.
